A masterpiece of design, sustainability & craftsmanship

  • Innovative Use of Shou Sugi Ban Cladding: The project features over 8,500 linear meters of Shou Sugi Ban cladding, a traditional Japanese technique that enhances durability and aesthetics through charring wood, providing a striking blackened finish that is both visually appealing and sustainable.
  • Indoor Swimming Pool with Specialised Design: The centerpiece of the property is an indoor swimming pool designed with careful attention to condensation management and airflow, ensuring year-round comfort and longevity.
  • Sustainability and Site Adaptation: The design adapts to a landslip site, reducing excavation and minimizing environmental impact. The house follows the land's natural contours, and energy efficiency was ensured through airtightness testing for both the pool and dwelling.
  • Craftsmanship and Material Selection: Inside, the home features exceptional craftsmanship, with custom polished concrete, spotted gum, and Tasmanian oak timber details. The kitchen stands out with luxurious granite and copper benchtops and an integrated copper sink.
  • Environmental Sensitivity and Tree Preservation: The project carefully preserved a sentimental tree on the site, integrating it into the design, and also managed sediment control and environmental impact during construction to ensure minimal disruption to the surrounding landscape.

This project is a perfect blend of design, sustainability, and meticulous craftsmanship.
